Give a warm welcome to Amanda Reece, Launch’s newest Account Executive! We asked Amanda a few questions so the World Wide Web could get to know her.
Q: What made you interested in advertising as a career?
A:I knew that I wanted to do something that incorporated both a creative and business aspect.
Q: What is the one piece of advice you’d give to people beginning work in a creative field?
A: For me, when I graduated college, I had zero experience in the industry. I can’t stress enough to soon-to-be college graduates that internships really give you an awesome preview before starting out your career.
Q: If you could have dinner with anyone, dead or alive, who would it be and why?
A: My great grandmother. I’ve heard so many stories from my family about her experiences living through The Great Depression and WWII. I would love to be able to hear them from her perspective.
Name your top three albums of all time.
A: I’ve got music A.D.D. I can’t stick to just one album. Thank goodness for Spotify.
Q: We were big Mad Men fans here at Launch. Are you a Peggy, a Joan, or a Betty?
A: I never got into that show. I know, I know. Now, you want to talk about Game of Thrones? I’d say I’m a Daenerys Targaryen.
Q: What is your academic/work background?
A: I graduated from SMU in 2011 with a B.A. in Advertising. Since graduation, I have worked on brands such as Frito Lay, Ford and Corner Bakery.
Q: If you could take six months off of work to do anything you wanted, what would you do?
A: Definitely travel.
Q: What attracted you to Launch?
A: The people. Every one loves being here, which makes for a happy, effective work environment.
